ON January 2, another treat was given to 60 children under the age of 12 at Nettlebed village hall by Mr O Stanley King, of New York, this being the third time he has so kindly thought of the little folk of the village. The arrangements were made for Mr King by the Misses Champion and a capital tea was spread to which all did ample justice.

Capt Frank Leslie Watson has been awarded the Military Cross for distinguished service in the field. He is the youngest son of the late John Watson, of Shirburn, and brother to David Watson, and the Misses Watson, of Innesbrook, Watlington.

Mr Smith, of the estate office, Fawley Court, appeared in front of the Henley County Bench on behalf of Mr Mackenzie and asked permission to withdraw the summons against three Marlow women against whom proceedings had been taken for damage done in gathering moss in a wood in Bix. Supt Lambourne said the women had paid costs and had seen Mr Mackenzie, who had forgiven them and wished to stay any further proceedings. The application was granted.
