A CRACKDOWN on inconsiderate and illegal parking is to take place in Benson.
The parish council has received complaints about the problem in the village centre.
Vice-chairman Jon Fowler said: “We have asked the police community support officers to undertake regular patrols to check for anyone parking illegally.
“We want to encourage as many people as possible to use the village shops but please don’t park on double yellow lines or block the delivery access for the shops.
“With the busy Christmas period, if we all show a little consideration it will benefit everyone.”
Meanwhile, dog owners whose animals foul the Sunnyside recreation ground have been warned to beware of being caught.
Parish clerk Pete Eldridge said the problem had become so bad that there was a “serious risk” to children playing for Benson United FC.
“It should be noted that fouling is an offence which will incur a fixed penalty notice of £80,” he said.
